[GUIDE] Custom Made Wedding Dresses

By having your dress custom-made you are sure you'll get a better fit, the design you really want, and won't have to suffer the obscene prices of a bridal boutique (custom dresses don't always cost a fortune!.

Yeah right, you say "Ok, fine: but how and where do you find a custom dressmaker?"
Do you know any seamstresses or talented sewers? What about costume staff from your local theater? Or even fashion program students from college? Do any of your friends or family known any? If not, search online or in the Yellow Pages for someone locally. Being able to do fittings in person is a big, massive bonus!

When selecting a seamstress, see photos from a portfolio and possibly actual dresses. And talk to past clients if you can. Photos can look amazing compared to looking at the details of a dress closely.
If there's no-one in town you like (always check the creations in their shops or ask for pictures of things they made), then start looking online for seamstresses with styles you like.

YOU FIND THEM LOCALLY?
Well, great for you!
Once you find a seamstress you like, bring in as many photos as possible to show the gown model, color, style, fabric, etc. Your seamstress will know what will work fabric-wise. Settle on what you need and ..Time to buy some cloth!
Be careful when buying really cheap fabric. Cheap fabric makes a dress look cheap. ALWAYS ask to see some samples, pay attention to quality, and look at the seams! You may not be an expert, but believe me, you can spot a scrappy seam.

YOU CAN'T FIND THEM LOCALLY?WELL, HERE COMES THE INTERNET..
It's plenty of talented dress-makers online. Check this out for a massive global list of hindie dressmaker.
There's also the option of getting your dress from overseas (mostly China), which can save TONS of cash!
